Alberta Professional Outfitters Society (APOS) Re: Mule Deer Collaring Program

Dear Alberta Professional Outfitters Society,

We the Medicine Hat Fish and Game Association (MHFGA) are writing to express our full support for the Alberta Professional Outfitters Society’s and partners, mule deer collaring program. This initiative plays a crucial role in advancing wildlife conservation and management efforts across Alberta, ensuring the long-term health of our mule deer populations and the ecosystems they inhabit.

The MHFGA recognizes, this mule deer collaring program will provide essential data on movement patterns, habitat usage, survival rates, and population dynamics. This science-based approach is invaluable for informing responsible wildlife management decisions, balancing conservation priorities with outdoor recreation, hunting, and land stewardship.

A better understanding mule deer behavior and health, will benefit not only the species but also Alberta’s diverse landscapes and the outdoor heritage valued by so many residents and visitors. We look forward to seeing this data, in this multi year program. Additionally, the MHFGA members, would assist in this program, if possible. Please contact our email, if any opportunities were available.

MHFGA commends the Alberta Professional Outfitters Society and partners for its commitment to responsible conservation.

Sincerely,
Glenn Heather, President MHFGA
